Biography

The Irish music scene in Philadelphia is bursting with bands and musicians who perform all over the area to keep the roots of Ireland alive in their songs. None of these performers are quite like Jamison though- a high-energy six-piece that can take traditional Irish tunes and turn them upside down, blending in rock, reggae, modern pop, and hip-hop along the way. Crowds can’t help but get to their feet as Jamison takes Irish music to the next level with original songs and eccentric versions of covers or festival favorites.

Since 2003, Jamison has been touring the East Coast’s Irish/Celtic festival circuit while maintaining an ever-growing following surrounding Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore. Notable appearances include:

-Celtic Classic, Bethlehem, PA ( 2013 – 2015, 2018, 2019, 2022)

-Cape Coral Irish Festival, Cape Coral, FL (2018 – 2020)

-St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival (2019-2023)

-Philadelphia Penn’s Landing Irish Festival (2003 – 2022)

-North Wildwood Irish Fall Festival (2003 – 2022)

-Valley Forge Mid-Winter Scottish/Irish Festival, King of Prussia, PA (2006 – 2016)

-Kiltfest, Bordentown, NJ (2016)

Jamison doesn’t stop when a festival season ends. The full band- as well as solo, duo and acoustic formations- spends weekends (and weekday gigs) performing in venues and pubs throughout their homebase. They have also been welcomed performers at regional events such as the Jameson Whiskey Bartenders Ball, Paddypalozza, Running of the Santas, and a number of community concert series in the region. The band hosts annual events including their own American Celtic Christmas. Since 2012, the large production show draws in the band’s fans and friends for a holiday celebration that features some of the world’s best performers! The sell-out event combines Irish music and dance with Christmas favorites and pop stylings, creating a family friendly show that has become a yearly tradition to thousands in the Philadelphia area. The show will be touring the US this upcoming 2021 holiday season.

Fans can now pick up Jamison’s recent EPs at all upcoming shows. The first, recorded in 2019 in Philadelphia, heyhowrya, is a three-song sampler of original songs that celebrate loved ones who have passed. A second EP, hafaguone, combines original songs and Celtic favorites and was released in February of 2020.

Fans can catch Jamison at major Florida festivals such as The Cape Coral Irish Festival and The St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival, More are currently being confirmed, following Jamison on their website or social media is the best way to keep track of their tour schedule.

Each Jamison show is different from the last. Whether it’s a large festival stage in front of thousands or a favorite pub crowd ready to unwind from a long week, you’ll be drawn into a unique experience with the band’s contagious good vibes. Their sets mold to fit their audiences, making Jamison one of the most versatile bands in the business. Fans will leave a Jamison show reenergized, out of breath and asking, “when’s the next one?”
